Above The Trees is intended to honour all children within non-traditional families. It respectfully opens a dialogue to explain the absence of a parent.

Born into a giraffe family, when Kaylee’s father gets lost in the jungle she has many questions. Unsure how to answer these questions without placing blame, her mother whispers a beautiful verse that she carries with her throughout her lifetime in the jungle.

When old enough to see above the trees, this sweet giraffe discovers the jungle has always been home to many non-traditional families, but more importantly, she truly understands and accepts her family, just the way they are.

Rich in symbolism for both young and old reader alike, this beautiful verse inspires healing and promotes healthy family relationships.
